Market Report – 12 April

Total Yarding: 2,283

Numbers lifted this sale and quality was very mixed. There was a large percentage of plainer type cattle penned along with the few better finished lines. There were 1,023 cows penned and the usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.

Vealer steers and heifers sold from 235c to 265c/kg. Yearling steers eased 5c to 10c/kg. Middle weights to feed sold from 240c to 288c/kg with heavy weights from 240c to 297c/kg. The better lines to processors sold from 235c to 292c/kg. Yearling heifers showed the biggest decrease with middle weights to processors selling from 220c to 258c/kg. Heavy weights sold from 235c to 265c/kg. Those to feed received from 215c to 255c/kg.

Heavy steers and bullocks made from 245c to 280c/kg. Grown heifers sold from 180c to 250/kg. Cows were 10c cheaper with heavy 2 score selling from 152c to 188c and 3 and 4 score receiving 174c to 202c/kg.
