Market Report – 16 April 2021

Total Yarding: 3,436

Just under 4,000 good quality weaners were penned and there was more weight throughout the sale with most ranged from 270kg to 330kg. There was a large buying group that were competitive through the sale and kept most of the cattle under 300kg at similar values while the heavier runs were up to $100/head softer.

Light weaner steers under 200kg $1,210 to $1,260/head. Medium weights 200kg to 280kg sold from $1,400 to $1,760/head with most averaging around 645c/kg lwt. Heavy weaners 280kg and heavier, $1,510 to a top of $1,890/head. Light weaner heifers sold from $1,090 to $1,270 and the medium weights $1,300 to $1,610/head with the medium weights 540c to 620c/kg for the lighter weights around 220 to 240kg. Heavy heifers ranged from $1,500 to $1,820/head. Yearling steers just over 12 months of age reached $1,980/head.

PTIC heifers were limited and reached $2,400 and the cows topped at $2,350/head. Cow and calf units reached $3,150/unit for an Angus cow with a Euro cross calf at foot.
