Total Yarding: 1,051

Numbers decreased and the quality remained mixed. There were fewer light weaners and there was a good run of yearlings but grown steers were limited. Grown heifers and a very good run of heavy cows made up half of the yarding. There was a larger restocking contingent and all the usual buyers were operating in a much dearer market.

Light weaners under 200kg jumped 120c, with steers selling from 265c to 338c and heifers making from 245c to 330c/kg. Vealers to process reached 284c/kg. Medium weight feeders lifted 16c and heavy weights improved by 20c and made from 250c to 290c/kg. Heifers to feed also lifted and sold from 258c to 275c/kg. Heavy trade steers gained 8c, averaging 280c/kg.

Prime grown steers received from 260c to 265c and the best of the grown heifers reached 265c before averaging 235c/kg to process. Light and medium weight cows lifted 50c on average with the 2 score medium weights, making from 190c to 214c/kg. Heavy cows were 30c stronger, making from 212c to 239c, averaging 229c/kg.
