The pre-Easter sale saw a reduction in numbers and quality was mixed. Heavy trade weights were best supplied with several good runs. Heavy lambs were limited and there was only a few neat shorn light weights. Merino hoggets were in reasonable numbers and covered all weight ranges. Not all the usual buyers operated in a fairly firm market.

The 22kg to 24kg lambs sold from $169 to $180/head averaging 730c to 740c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs sold from $179 to $183/head, averaging 655c to 700c/kg cwt. Crossbred hoggets reached $167 and Merino hoggets $165/head.

Mutton numbers eased and the quality was plainer. Prices were firm to $3 dearer on the medium and heavy sheep. Medium weight ewes sold from $96 to $148/head for full skinned Merinos. Heavy crossbred ewes sold to $140/head. Most averaged 500c to 520c/kg cwt.
