Prime Cattle

Total Yarding: 630

Numbers eased by 180 for a yarding of 633 fair to good quality cattle. Heavy prime cattle suitable for processors were well supplied along with limited numbers of young cattle. All the regular buyers were present.

Young cattle to the trade were slightly cheaper, vealer steers and heifers selling from 180c to 300c and yearling steers and heifers to processors, 220c to 312c/kg. Feeder steers remained firm selling between 260c and 374c while feeder heifers were 10c dearer, 260c to 310c/kg. The mixed quality of young restocker cattle saw steers sell from 125c to 402c and heifers 245c to 340c/kg.

Grown steers and heifers lifted 10c. Prime grown steers selling between 212c and 307c while prime, and prime grown heifers, 228c to 298c. Cows held firm with 2 and 3 scores selling from 160c to 235c and prime heavy weight cows, 222c to 248c/kg. Bulls sold to 255c/kg.
