Market Report – 24 February

Numbers were up and quality was mixed for the February SELX store sale. A total of 1950 store cattle were penned with young weaner making up the bulk of the yarding. Cows and calves were in limited supply and quality was lacking – $1320-$1900. PTIC – $1160-$1280.

Steers sold to an up down trend with buyers being discerning on quality – 300+kg $1020-$1280, 250-300kg $940-$1100. Most of the quality pens making $3.65-$4.10. The heifer run sold to strong competition with good lines of breeder cattle well sought after – 300kg+ $990-$1150, 250-300kg – $760-$860. Most selling $3.10-$3.70

Buyers came from central west, Goulburn, Albury and Feedlots.
