Lamb numbers eased and the quality was good with most of the lambs off crop. Trade and heavy lambs were best supplied and store lambs were limited. Only a few Merino lambs were offered in a market that sold firm on the heavy and extra heavy lambs and $8 to $9/head dearer on trade weights.

Trade lambs to 24kg sold mostly from $187 to $215/head averaging from 890c to 930c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs sold from $206 to $235 and extra heavy lambs reached $275/head. Most of the heavy lambs averaged from 760c to 850c/kg cwt. Trade Merinos lifted $8 reaching $186 and heavy weights made to $220/head. Merino hoggets sold to $230/head.

Mutton numbers doubled and quality was good. Prices lifted $8 to $10/head across most of the sheep. Medium weight ewes sold from $160 to $192/head. Heavy crossbred ewes reached $265 and Merino ewes made $234/head. Very heavy crossbreed wethers made to $290/head.
