Special Store Cattle & Weaner Sale

Total Yarding:  2091

Just over 2,000 head were offered in the monthly store sale. Weaners were well supplied and there were only a few yearlings and a couple of pens of PTIC cow and cow and calf units. The market sold to a strong trend.

Light weaner steers under 200kg sold from $600 to $1040/head or between 470c and 540c/kg on a live weight basis. Medium weight steers, 200 to 280kg sold from $910 to $1385/head for Angus steers or 440c to 500c/kg on average. Heavy weights made from $1240 to $1590/head. Light weaner heifers sold from $500 to $890/head. Medium weights $720 to $1,100 with heavy weights to $1,260/head. Most averaged 360c to 440c/kg lwt depending on breed and condition. The few yearling steers sold reached $1,310 and heifers made to $950/head.

PTIC cows made from $1,425 to $1,750/head and cow and calf units sold from $1,310 to $2,050/unit. A weaner sale will be held on the 20th of March.
