Market Report – 28 January 2021

Total Yarding: 576

Agents penned a similar sized yarding to last week. The quality was mixed with some large pens of quality yearlings suiting the feedlots buyers. All the regular buying group were present and operating in a firm to slightly softer market.

The best of the trade steers were firm selling from 418c to 430c/kg. The heifers portion made from 360c to 410c/kg. The bulk of the yearlings supplied went to feed with steers selling from 397c to 451c/kg. Restockers were very active taking heifers home from 380c to 430c and paying up to 420c/kg for the steer portion. There were a handful of quality finished grown steers selling to processors from 375c to 385c/kg, softening a few cents from last week. Heavy grown heifers sold from 338c to 376c/kg.

Heavy cows were well supplied selling from 282c to 308c/kg in a firm market. Bulls with shape reached 309c/kg.
