Special Store Cattle

Yarding: 448

A slightly smaller offering in the monthly store sale, mostly weaners were penned and the quality was good. There was a large spread in weights and a few larger drafts of cattle. Competition was solid and prices were similar with cow and calf units selling to stronger demand on plainer conditioned cattle.

Weaner steers 200 to 280kg were best supplied and sold from $2040 to $2290/head and the lighter end was averaging around 750c/kg. Weaner heifers at similar weights sold from $1460 to $1630 and heavier weights reached $2075/head. Slightly older heifers topped at $2200 and steers $2340/head. Cow and calf units started at $2380 and reached $3400/unit.
