Market Report – 6 February 2020

Total Yarding: 1,755

Numbers eased slightly for a good quality yarding. Weaners were better supplied and there was a good run of yearlings which suited both trade and feeder orders. Grown steers and bullocks were limited and there were nearly 600 cows penned. Restockers and feeder orders were strong and the market sold to a much stronger trend.

Weaner steers sold to a top of 402c and heifers reached 364c/kg to restocking orders. Feeder steers were up to 25c dearer and sold from 320c to 349c/kg. Feeder heifers also lifted 25c selling from 270c to 320c/kg. Restockers paid 367c/kg for a line of light steers. Trade steers made from 305c to 325c and heifers made from 270c to 325c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks were 30c stronger reaching 335c and the best of the grown heifers reached 313c/kg. Cow were 15c to 20c dearer with the medium weight 2 score cows selling from 233c to 258c and the heavy 3 and 4 score cows made from 268c to 288c/kg.
