Market Report – 8 January 2021

Total Yarding: 6,194

SELX agents yarded 6,194 in total, comprising 1,332 1.5 year old ewes and 4,862 2020 drop ewe lambs.

The first cross ewes and lambs were very well presented by vendors across the Southern Tablelands –  Crookwell, Gunning, Gundaroo, Yass, Laggan, Bunda, Bookham and from Riverina locations of Ganmain, Borambola and Cootamundra.

Buyers competed in a strong market, with good competition throughout the sale. Buyers attended from Goulburn, Rugby, Yass, Bunda, Braidwood, Grabben Gullen, Bimbi, Wagga, Coolac, Crookwell, Tumbarumba, Lyndhurst, Oberon, Canberra, Taralga, Reidsdale, Cowra & Bungendore.

Champion presented pen of 1.5 year old ewes was awarded to CW & JE Maberly of Wattle Creek, Grabben Gullen sold by Duncombe & Co for $442ph.

Champion presented pen of ewe lambs was awarded to Graham Osborne & family, A/C ‘Mooboo Rural Trading’, of Gundaroo, sold by Delta Agribusiness for $340ph.

Top price pen of the sale went to the Romer family of Sunsbury Pastoral Co, Crookwell for 103 1.5 year old ewes sold by Nutrien Livestock for $452ph.
