A record yarding at SELX of 34,901 sheep and lambs, consisting of 24,420 lambs and 10,481 sheep.
The market for trade and heavy weight lambs was $5-10 cheaper, topping at $148 or $5-5.10 per kg but with the light lamb and re-stocker lambs firm with a range from $80-106.
The mutton market was fully firm to $2 dearer with a good range of heavy and light sheep. The best, bare shorn wethers topping at $120, wooly merino ewes made up to $130. Heavy cross bred ewes with a two month skin made $122. Heavy mutton made $3.80-4.20 per kg, with light sheep around $4.20 plus.
