Special Store Cattle Sale

Total Yarding: 470

The monthly store sale was limited in numbers but the quality and presentation of the young cattle was good. Weaners made up the majority of the offering and there were only a few yearlings and cow and calf units. There was a good sized buying group and the market sold to a strong demand.

Light weaner steers under 200kg ranged from $1100 to $1520/head and mostly averaged 780c to 800c/kg. Medium weight Angus weaners sold from $1380 to $2040/head or 705c/kg on average and heavy weights sold to $2270/head. Light weaner heifers ranged from $900 to $1180 and medium weights $1100 to $1580/head. Heavy Angus heifers reached $1920/head averaging 604c/kg.

Yearling heifers reached $2550 and cow and calf units ranged from $2075 to Angus cows with an Angus calf at foot reaching $2900/unit.
