Prime Cattle

Total Yarding:  714

Numbers were similar and the quality was fair to good. There was a very good run of heavy grown steers and heifers along with pens of prime trade cattle. Feeder steers were back in number but there was a bigger selection of heifers. Vealers were limited and around 185 mostly heavy cows were offered. The market sold to a much stronger trend.

Feeder steers sold 30c stronger with medium weights selling from 355c to 413c and heavy weights sold to 421c/kg. Feeder heifers also lifted 30c and most ranged between 310c and 358c/kg. Trade heifers lifted 7c to 8c and ranged from 330c to 350c and the steer portion 355c to 375c/kg.

Grown steers were 10c to 15c dearer selling from 328c to 346c/kg and a better run of heavy prime heifers lifted 30c with most selling from 300c to 350c/kg. Cows jumped 20c with the prime heavy weights 260c to 292c/kg and medium weights 2 score cows 210c to restocking cows at 260c/kg.
