Special Store & Weaner Sale

Total Yarding: 663

Only a small offering of cattle were penned at the monthly store sale. Weaners were well supplied and most were around 10 month of age. The quality was good with nice lines and well breed mostly Angus calves but there were several larger pens of Limo X steers and heifers. A run of Angus PTIC heifers were offered and a line of cow/calf units. Despite the cold and wet conditions there was a reasonable sized buying group.

The top price for steers reached $1260/head and weighed an average of 359kg to be back grounded for a feedlot. Medium weight Angus weaner steers sold mostly from $740 to $870/head and averaged 310c/kg, topping at 350c/kg and a run of the limo steers reached $820/head or 360c/kg. Heavy weights reached $1210/head. most of the weaner heifers were medium weights and sold from $550 to $770/head and a large run of feeder heifers reached $910/head. PTIC Angus heifers sold from $790 to $1290/head and mixed aged cows with calf at foot made to $1290/unit.
