Numbers fell this sale and the quality was very mixed as some producers off load before the end of the year. Yearlings were well supplied and young weaners were limited. The export run offered a lighter run and nearly 150 mostly heavy cows were penned. Not all the usual buyers operated with an export buyer missing and feeders not operating a full potential. The market sold to weaker trends due to the drop in the quality and condition of the cattle.

The better shaped feeder steers were back 30c selling from 210c to 298c/kg and the plainer steers ranged most from 160c to 180c/kg. Feeder heifers fell 35c ranged from 208c to 228c/kg for the medium weights and were 17c softer on the heavy weights selling between 205c to 233c/kg. The few heavy trade steers remained firm selling from 245c to 255c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks dropped 20c to range from 190c to 240c/kg while the better shaped grown heifers lost 25c selling from 165c to 218c/kg. Heavy cows fell 45c with D muscled cows 168c to 192c and high yielding C muscled cows reached 200c/kg.
