Monthly Store & Weaner Cattle

The monthly store sale offered a small run of mostly Angus and Black Baldy weaners and a few yearling cattle. There was a run of two and four tooth steers in plain condition alongside a small run of PTIC cows and heifers and a couple of drafts of cow and calf units. The market trend was softer than the last store sale.

Angus and Angus cross weaners were back $130 to $150/head with the top price reaching $1150/head for 350kg. Medium weight D muscled steers sold from $660 to $830/head and were mostly the lighter weight and C muscle reached $1050/head for 260kg steers. Weaner heifers eased $40 to $50/head with the top price reaching $905 for 325c/kg. Heavy yearling steers reached $1300/head or 305c/kg and heifers $950/head or 240c/kg. The crossbred 2 and 4 tooth steers sold from $350 to $440/head.

Cow and calf units topped at $1500/unit for first calvers and PTIC Angus cows reached $1240/head.
