Prime Cattle

A store sale tomorrow contributed to a smaller yarding of 212 mixed quality cattle. There were only 3 regular buyers operating, selling to a mostly firm market for the better-quality types.

Yearlings to process reached 380c/kg. Feeder steers sold from 280c to 380c, and heifers to feed made from 250c to 310c/kg. Young lightweight returning to the paddock or going to the feedlot were slightly cheaper overall, with the steers ranging from 202c to 400c, and the heifers selling from 150c to 370c/kg.

Heavy grown steers were dearer making from 285c to 366c, and the grown heifers sold from 220c to 350c/kg. Heavy prime cows were also dearer, selling from 292c to 325c/kg. Heavy bulls to process reached 260c/kg.
