Lamb numbers eased and the quality was good. Light lambs were limited and there was a very good run of trade weights. Heavy and extra heavy lambs were on short supply and there was only a small number of Merino lambs through the yards. The market was dearer.

Restockers paid from $107 to $155/head for the light trade weights. The 2 score processing lambs were $2 dearer, receiving from $92 to $133/head. Trade weights varied in weight from 18-22kg and were $10 to $13 dearer making from $140 to $170/head. The 22-24kg lambs gained $16 to $20 receiving from $163 to $185/head. Heavy 4 score lambs were $7 dearer, making from $175 to $180 and extra heavy lambs reached $210/head. Carcase prices averaged from 720c to 750c for trades and from 680c to 720c/kg cwt for heavy lambs. Merino lambs sold to $147/head. Hoggets reached $184/head.

Mutton numbers halved and the quality was good. Prices lifted $11 to $15 on the medium weights and $4/head on the limited numbers of heavy crossbreds. Light sheep sold from $55 to $76/head. Medium weight ewes varied from $105 to 146/head. Heavy crossbreds reached $198/head.
