Market Report – 13 June

Total Yarding: 8,194

Lamb numbers reduced and the quality was mixed. There still were plenty of light store lambs and there was a good run of trade and heavy lambs. The market trend was dearer.

Restocking lambs sold from $30 to $118/head. The 2 score processing lambs were firm from $92 to $118/head. Medium and heavy trade lambs were $11 to $13 dearer and sold from $133 to $160/head averaging 640c to 660c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs were $10 to $12 dearer selling from $164 to $172 and extra heavy lambs reached $189/head. Merino trades reached $150/head.

Mutton numbers halved and contained a lot of light sheep. The market was slightly stronger. Light sheep sold from $30 to $62/head. The better covered and heavier medium weights $87 to $128 and heavy crossbred ewes topped at $180/head. The better covered sheep averaged 470c to 500c/kg cwt.
