Special Weaner Sale

Total Yarding: 5324

The first of the April store weaner sale offer 5338 mostly good to very good weaners, Angus and Angus cross steers and heifers made up the bulk of the yarding and competition was strong from the large gallery. On average the market sold $60 to $70/head dearer. There was a good spread of weights starting around 170kg upto heavy weight steers that averaged 444kg and heifer 419kg but most fell into the weight range of 260kg to 320kg.

Weaner steers under 200kg sold from $750 to $965/head. Medium weights to 280kg sold from $1090 to $1320 and the heavier weights to 320kg reached $1515/head. The general run of steers averaged between 450c and 480c/kg. The heavy weights topped at $1720/head. Light weaner heifers started at $520 and sold to $870/head. Medium weights $710 to $1380/head. Most averaged from 380c to 400c/kg. Joinable heavy heifers sold to a top of $1650/head.
