Special Weaner Cattle

Total Yarding:  2,363

The first of 3 weaner sale offered 2363 weaners and were presented to confident group of buyers. The quality was good, and weight was a feature with a large percentage over 300kg. There were a couple of feeder orders operating and they were strong on weights 360kg and heavier. Angus and Angus cross cattle dominated the breeds. The market sold to strong trends.

Weaner steers under 200kg sold from $640 to $860/head. Medium weights to 280kg sold from $610 to $1210/head averaging 410c/kg after reaching 455c/kg. Heavy weight to 330kg sold from $990 to $1230/head or 282c/kg on average. Light heifers ranged from $450 to $560/head and medium weights to 280kg ranged between $605 and $950/head averaging 297c with plenty of sales over 310c/kg. Heavy weights reached $1060/head.

Heavy feeder steers sold from $900 to $1380/head, heifers to feed were mainly in the 250kg to 280kg weight range and sold from $610 to $1050/head.
