Market Report – 15 May 2020

Total Yarding: 3,314

Over 3,000 head was offered at the store weaner sale and the quality was good with a large number in forward condition. Angus and Angus cross steers and heifers made up the bulk of the yarding and the market sold to a very solid trend.

Weaner steers under 200kg consistently sold over 500c/kg lwt and ranged from $710 to $1,150/head. Medium weight steers made from $850 to $1,330/head averaging from 450c to 480c after reaching 550c/kg and heavy weights sold from $1,360 to $1,650/head. Light weaner heifers made from $510 to $970/head and most averaged from 400c to 440c/kg. Medium weights sold from $750 to $1,225/head and heavy weaner heifers reached $1,380/head. Heavy yearling steers sold to $1,650/head.

There were a few cow and calf units and they sold to $2,280/unit. Cows $1,100 to $1,660/head.
