Lamb numbers eased and the quality was slightly plainer on the trade and heavy lambs to processors. Store lambs were well supplied and Re-stockers were active on the shorter wool lambs. All the usual buyers were operating in a dearer market.

The medium and heavy trade weights were $5 to $7 stronger selling from $130 to $154/head to average 645c/kg. Heavy lambs gained $9 and made from $152 to $173 and extra heavy weights were firm with less weight at the top end and made from $174 to $180/head. The best of the hoggets reached $187/head.

Mutton numbers eased and the quality was plainer. Prices continue to rise with strong competition on all grades. Medium weight ewes sold from $104 to $140/head. Heavy crossbred ewes reached $180/head and most averaged around 520c/kg.
