Total Yarding: 12,140

Lamb numbers lifted and the quality improved. There were 1500 new season lambs and a better run of old trade and heavy lambs, there still were plenty of lambs that lacked cover and finish and were woolly. There was a good spread of weights through the yarding. A larger than usual buying group attended and the market sold to a dearer trend of around $10/head. .

New season store lambs sold from $14 to $50/head. Trade weights 18 to 22kg ranged from $93 to $104 and the 22 to 24kg lambs sold from $102 to $115/head. Heavy lambs sold to $122/head averaging 480c to 500c/kg cwt.

Old 2 score processing lambs to 18kg sold between $28 and $77/head, trade weights 22 to 24kg ranged from $80 to $96 and the heavy lambs 24 to 26kg, $92 to $115/head. The heavier run 26 to 30kg was $3 stronger with little competition from exporters and ranged from $103 to $112 and extra heavy lambs over 30kg reached $140/head. The best price for hoggets reached $71/head.

Mutton numbers lifted and there were more wethers this week. Prices were around firm to $5 stronger especially on the light and medium weights. Light ewes $17 to $24 and medium weight mutton, $23 to $33/head. Heavy crossbred ewes $33 to $42/head. Best Merino reached $40/head. Most ranged from 100c to 150c/kg cwt.
