Prime Cattle

Total Yarding: 449

Numbers were steady and the quality improved. Yearling steers were best represented and there was a large percentage and grown cattle, 2 and 4 teeth. There were a couple of pens of heavy butcher vealers and around 85 cows. The market trend was cheaper falling 40c to 50c across most categories with a few of the plainer lines dropping 80c to 100c/kg.

The heavy butcher vealers sold to 160c/kg. Restocking steers ranged from 120c to 169c and medium and heavy feeders sold from 136c to 180c and a few over 450kg reached 220c/kg. Feeder and restocking heifers had a large spreads and sold from 50c to 170c/kg. There were no trade cattle.

Most of the grown steers ranged from 140c to 170c and a few prime steers made to 220c/kg. The heavy grown heifers received from 145c to 160c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows ranged from 80c to 100c and the prime heavy weights, 120c to 158c/kg.
