Lamb numbers increased and the quality was plainer. There were fewer well presented lambs in the trade and heavy weight categories and extra heavy lambs still remain limited. There were again large drafts of unshorn lambs which were mainly purchased by restockers. Most of the usual buyers returned and the market trend was cheaper by $3 to $5/head.

Restocking lambs sold from $103 to $172/head. Trade lambs to 24kg cwt $174 to $194/head averaging 775c and very neat 20kg shorn lamb averaging 810c/kg cwt. The 24 to 26kg lambs ranged from $178 to $202/head or 735c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs to 30kg $200 to $212/head. Extra heavy lambs sold from $227 to $234/head. Best priced hogget reached $196/head.

Mutton numbers were similar and the quality good. Prices were cheaper. Medium weight ewes $107 to $146/head. Heavy crossbred ewes $168 to $190 and very heavy Dorpers reached $221/head, Merinos reached $175/head. Carcase prices averaged from 530c to 570c/kg cwt.
