Total Yarding: 1450

There were 1450 head, an increase of 260 from last week. It was a fair quality yarding, with some good pens of finished yearlings to suit the processors, along with some good lines suiting the feedlot buyers. There were a few good runs of heavy grown cattle and over 500 cows. All the usual buyers were present, however not all operated, selling to a mostly softer market.

Trade yearling steers were firm, selling from 295c to 330c, and the heifer portion slipped 5c, making from 270c to 308c/kg. Feeder steers were firm to a few cents easier, ranging from 265c to 369c, and heavy heifers to feed were dearer, reaching 308c to average 294c/kg. Young cattle returning to the paddock were considerably cheaper.

Heavy grown steers were slightly cheaper, steers selling from 228c to 313c and grown heifers making from 180c to 299c/kg. Cows fell 20c, with the 2 scores to process ranging from 100c to 155c, and the 3 and 4 score cows made from 170c to 238c/kg. The best heavy weight bull reached 220c/kg.
