Prime Cattle

Total Yarding: 538

Heavy grown cattle to process topping at 332c/kg was the highlight of a plainer quality yarding of 538, which made it difficult to quote some categories.

There was keen interest from the trade buyers for finished yearlings, selling from 275c to 330c/kg. Cattle to the feedlot buyers were cheaper, with the medium weight steers ranging from 260c to 330c, and the heavy weights making from 255c to 312c/kg. Heifers to feed were also cheaper, receiving from 225c to 317c/kg. Young cattle returning to the paddock attracted less interest, with the steers selling from 150c to 340c, and the heifers sold from 100c to 260c/kg.

Heavy grown steers lifted 10c, ranging from 230c to 330c, and the heifers made from 220c to 332c/kg. Two score cows to process sold from 110c to 170c, and heavy prime cows made from 212c to 246c/kg. The best heavy weight bull reached 230c/kg.
