Market Report – 29 June

Total Yarding: 901

Numbers were back for this month’s store sale and while the quality was mixed and contained a lot of small pens. There were several large drafts of Angus and Angus-Euro cross calves in forward condition. Most of the weaners were 6-11 month of age. Cow and calf units were limited and most were in plain condition.

Light weaner steer under 200kg sold from $180 to $500/head. The medium weights reached $780 and heavy weights sold from $850 to $1,110/head. The more popular breeds averaged 270c to 310c/kg. Most of the medium weight weaner heifers sold between $380 and Angus-Euro cross which reached $730/head. A large draft of Angus heifers sold from $670 to $825/head averaging 260c to 275c/kg for the top end.

Cow with calf at foot sold from $940 to $1,200/unit. Heavy Angus cows which have been running with a bull made $1,050/head.
