Predicted rain reduced numbers and the quality was mixed without the large drafts of prime trade and heavy weights. Trade weights were still well supplied and heavy weights were limited. Light store lambs were in short supply. Not all the usual buyers operated.

Restockers paid $124 to $178 lifting prices $30/head. Heavy weights to feed on reached $173/head. Medium and heavy trade weights to 22kg were $9 to $12 dearer selling from $190 to $226/head. Heavy lambs sold $13 dearer, selling to $222 to $239/head, averaging from 970c to 1,000c/kg. Extra heavy lambs reached $290/head. Hoggets topped at $280/head.

Mutton numbers were back and quality mixed. Prices were firm. Medium weight ewes sold from $132 to $180/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $201 to $290 and heavy Merino ewes reached $175/head, averaging 700c to 750c/kg cwt. Wethers sold from $176 to $227/head and averaged around 800c/kg cwt.
