Lamb numbers eased and the quality was mixed with secondary light store lambs making up the bulk. There was a few very good lambs trade and heavy weights but they were limited. The wasn’t the weight in the heavy and extra heavy lambs. After last weeks soft market prices lifted $10 to $15/head on the trade lambs and $6 to $10 on the heavy run.

Store lambs sold from $84 to $169 and trade weighted lambs returning to the paddock reached $185/head. Trade lambs from 20 to 24kg cwt sold from $162 to $196/head to average 770c/kg and the 24 to 26kg lambs $185 to $195/head or 735c/kg on average. Heavy lambs to 30kg cwt $202 to $213/head on limited numbers and extra heavy weights reached $225/head. A mixed selection of Merino trade weights ranged from $142 to $161/head. Best priced hogget reached $210/head.

Mutton numbers slipped and the quality remains mixed. Prices lifted with light and medium weights lifting $15/head and heavy mutton $6 to $8/head. Medium weight ewes $113 to $168/head the latter for longer skinned Merinos. Heavy crossbred ewes $204 to $211/head for a mix of two and four tooth ewes and the best Merino reached $176/head.
