Please note that from 4th October weekly Prime Lamb & Sheep sales will commence at the new time of 10:00am.

The South Eastern Livestock Exchange is located in Yass, NSW. The facility has the capacity to sell 3,800 cattle and 30,000 sheep on any given sale day.

Prime Cattle – 9 May 2024Total Yarding: 1158Numbers decreased by 400 for a yarding of fair to good quality cattle. Yearlings to feed or to the restockers made up the bulk of the offering, along with a few good pens of well-finished yearlings to suit the trade. There were some good runs of weaners returning to the paddock and there were 300 cows. All the usual buyers were operating, along with some extra restocker interest, selling to a mostly stronger market.Yearling steers to process lifted 4c, selling from 270c to 320c and trade yearling heifers, firm to a few cents better, making from 260c to 300c/kg. Medium weight feeder steers jumped 10c, ranging from 270c to 368c/kg. Heifers to feed were also dearer, topping at 308c/kg.. Weaner steers to the restockers were up to 25c dearer, selling from 280c to 375c/kg. The heifer portion price’s fluctuated, quality related, making from 140c to 283c/kg.Heavy grown cattle mostly firm, steers topped at 282c and the heifers ranged from 186c to 289c/kg. Cows were 10c better.
