Lamb numbers improved and the quality remains good with 15,000 new season lambs penned. Trade and heavy lambs made up the majority of the offering along with a few large drafts of light store lambs. Old lambs were very limited and there was only a small selection of Merino lambs.

New season lambs to restocking orders made from $124 to $172/head. Medium and heavy trade lambs were $3 to $4 dearer to sell from $156 to $174/head to average from 780c to 820c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs were firm to $3 cheaper making from $166 to $203/head to average 740c to 760c/kg for domestic and 730c/kg cwt for the heavier export lambs. Extra heavy weights sold from $193 to $245/head. Hoggets reached $240/head.

Mutton numbers eased and the quality was good. Ewes were best supplied and prices were from $7 to $10 dearer. Medium weight ewes sold from $138 to $176/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $190 to $244 and Merinos sold from $186 to $223/head. Most averaged from 640c to 680c/kg cwt.
