Market Report – 25 March 2020

Total Yarding: 9,037

Lamb numbers lifted and quality was again mixed. Crossbred trade weights were only in reasonable numbers and light weights lacking finish were in good numbers. Heavy weights remain in limited numbers.

Restocking lambs were $16 cheaper selling from $128 to $180/head. The 2 score processing lambs were back $18, selling from $127 to $147/head. Medium and heavy trade weights eased $12 to $18 and made from $169 to $195/head. Heavy lambs were down by $9 to $12 and received from $183 to $222/head. The few extra heavy lambs reached $240/head. Carcase prices averaged between 830c to 870c/kg cwt. The best of the hoggets sold to $220/head.

Mutton numbers doubled and the quality was fair. Light and medium weights were the majority. Medium weight ewes sold from $120 to $170/head. Heavy crossbred ewes reached $240 and Merino reached $249/head. Dorper ewes reached $252/head. Most averaged from 640c to 700c/kg cwt.
