Market Report – 3 September 2020

Total Yarding: 584

Numbers lifted and the quality was mixed. Feeders were active on all weights and resulted in more condition purchased. Restockers were after breed and lines of cattle and this resulted in a cheaper trend on the secondary cattle. There was a good run of heavy grown heifers and nearly 70 cows were offered with plain cows in short supply. The market sold to a mostly cheaper trend.

Weaners to restock were cheaper, mostly breed related and steers sold from 426c to 526c and heifers 412c to 430c/kg. Feeder steers were firm to 5c cheaper, with the medium weights making from 378c to 405c and restockers paid to 420c/kg for similar weights. Heavy Euro steers to process topped at 415c/kg. Feeder heifers slipped 5c, to sell from 320c to 380c and heavy weights were back 15c, to make from 366c to 375c/kg.

Bullocks were close to firm, to make from 332c to 380c/kg and grown heifers were up 8c, selling between 320c and 375c/kg depending on age. The cows were firm to 2c cheaper. Medium weight cows with cover sold from 274c to 292c and the heavy weights made from 272c to 298c/kg.
