Total Yarding: 971

Around 970 head were offered and the majority were weaners 9 to 11 month of age. The quality was good and there was an increase in the average weight of most pens. The market sold to a similar high rate as the previous sale with the exception of the few pens of young cow and calf units which sold dearer. There was a strong buying group as well as a lot of interest from on line services.

Light weaner steers made from $800 to $1,000/head. Medium weights, 200kg to 280kg received from $910 to $1,360/head and averaged around 480c to 510c/kg for the majority. Heavy weaner steers sold from $1,200 to $1,675/head or 410c to 460c/kg. The better supplied medium weight weaner heifers sold from $870 to $1,230 and heavy weights made from $1,170 to $1,380/head or 400c to 430c/kg on average. Yearling steers topped at $1,460/head and heifers made $1,415/head.

PTIC heifers reached $1,400 and cows sold to $1,550/head. First calvers with calf at foot sold from $2,100 to $2,550 and older cow and calf units reached $2,500/unit.
