Market Report – 8 August 2019

Total Yarding: 583

Numbers eased and the quality was again mixed. Young cattle made up the bulk of the yarding and restockers and feeders were most active. There were only a few grown steers and heifers, with 81 cows were offered. Not all the usual buyers attended the smaller offering, but the market held firm on most categories, with the heavy cows improving a few cents and breed related price changes.

Weaner steers to restockers sold from 245c to 310c, with heifers making from 220c to 260c/kg. Medium and heavy weight feeder steers sold from 285c to 323c, while the heifers made from 259c to 290c/kg. Trade cattle sold from 260c to 290c/kg.

Heavy two tooth steers to feed sold from 325c to 330c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows were firm, making from 140c to 225c, while heavy cows sold to a dearer trend, from 220c to 258c, to average 245c/kg.
