Market Report – Prime Sheep & Lambs – 11 January

A total yarding of 23,803 lamb and mutton was offered at SELX today. Comprising of 12,633 lambs and 11,170 mutton. Better finished and presented lambs were $12-$20 dearer on last sale and attracted keen competition.

All other lambs including stores were solidly contested and were $5 to $10 dearer. Store lambs with a light cover going to the processor this week rather than the restocker.

The mutton market was fully firm on last sale, with strong demand across the board for heavy and light sheep.
