Prime Lamb & Sheep

Total Yarding: 13,063

Lamb numbers were back and the quality was only fair with a lot of lambs in store condition. There were a few good trade and heavy lambs but were limited to the first few pens of each agent. The market trend was cheaper on the secondary lambs and held firm on the good trade and heavy weights.

The better end of the store lambs sold from $90 to $134/head. The 2 score processing lambs ranged between $71 and $110/head. Trade weights 22 to 24kg sold from $164 to $190 and the 24 to 26kg lambs $190 to $198/head averaging around 750c/kg. Heavy lambs sold to $210 and extra heavy weights reached $230/head. Heavy hoggets sold to $140/head.

Mutton numbers lifted and quality was plainer. Prices eased $10 across most categories. Light mutton sold from $31 to $66 and medium weights $54 to $97. Heavy crossbred ewes $96 to $130/head.
