Prime Cattle

Total Yarding: 241

There was a decrease in numbers and the quality was slightly better with fewer plain cattle offered. There was a good run of milk and 2 tooth heifers along with some heavy grown steers. Yearlings, especially feeder heifers were limited. Not all the usual buyers were operating but the market sold to stronger trends.

Weaner steers sold from 260c to 280c/kg. Medium weight steers back to the paddock sold from 260c to 300c and feeders paid to 270c/kg. The limited supply of trade cattle sold from 240c to 270c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks sold between 246c and 260c/kg to both the processors and feeders and the prime grown heifers ranged from 246c to 260c/kg. Only a very limited number of cows were offered and the heavy weights sold from 192c to 210c/kg.
